Birthdays and Such...

We've had a lot of birthday celebrations over the past couple of months.  First Aunt Rachey, then daddy, then mommy, then a few of Lyla's friends.  None of the adults had any spectacular parties or events, but I always love birthday fun.

We embarrassed daddy by singing to him during his church class.  He secretly liked it.

Kate, Lyla's sweet friend from before she was born, turned 5 on March 10.  Kate's party was held at a pottery painting place.  Lyla had a super fun time painting a kitty cat.

Kate's party was on mommy's birthday, so it was even more fun to celebrate!

Lyla's other friend, Katherine, turned 4 on March 10.  She had a princess party.  They all had so much fun.

Lyla wanted to be Elsa from Frozen, but since the birthday girl had planned to be Elsa, we convinced Lyla to be Rapunzel.

Next birthday to celebrate: Lyla!!!

Day 5: The Realities...

July 20, 2014 Afternoon:  Well, we moved down the hall to a different ICU room.  Our new nurse is like a drill sergeant grandma…sweet but serious. Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree...

Friday Night Lights - A Poem...

The Friday night lights were back in full swing. Lyla arrived at the game asleep in her sling. All was well, the lights were bright. Little did we know that the end was in sight. The speaker came on and proclaimed domination. And that, dear friends, led to overstimulation. So we packed up our baby and checked on the time. The game started at seven-thirty, We left at seven-thirty-nine. The end.
